Description
A healthier version of traditional apple fritters made in an air fryer, featuring a crispy exterior and soft, apple-filled center.
Ingredients
- All-purpose flour: 1 cup (120 g)
- Granulated sugar: 1/4 cup (50 g)
- Baking powder: 1 teaspoon (5 g)
- Ground cinnamon: 1 teaspoon (2 g)
- Salt: 1/4 teaspoon (1 g)
- Milk: 1/2 cup (120 ml)
- Large egg: 1 large egg
- Diced apples: 1 cup (about 2 medium apples)
- Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon (5 ml)
- Cooking spray: for greasing the air fryer basket
Instructions
- Prepare the apples by washing, peeling, coring, and dicing them into small pieces.
- Make the batter by mixing the dry ingredients in a bowl and whisking the wet ingredients in another bowl.
- Combine the wet and dry mixtures, stirring gently, and fold in the diced apples.
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Shape the fritters by dropping rounded tablespoons of batter into the air fryer basket.
- Air fry the fritters for about 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
- Dust the warm fritters with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon for added sweetness.
Notes
- Avoid overmixing the batter to keep the fritters light and fluffy.
- Always preheat the air fryer for even cooking.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket for best results.
