- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1.075 ounce packet dry brown gravy mix
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over high heat.
- Add chopped onion and sauté until almost translucent, about 3 minutes.
- Add cubed beef and cook until browned on all sides, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Pour in 2 cups of water, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine.
- Add garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Bring mixture to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours until beef is tender.
- Mix remaining 1 cup of water with dry brown gravy mix in a small bowl.
- Stir the gravy mixture into the stew, bring to a boil, and cook for a few more minutes until thickened.
- Serve hot with rice, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread.
