Classic biscuits smothered in creamy sausage gravy.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for gravy)
- 2 cups milk (for gravy)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add cold butter and mix until crumbly.
- Stir in milk until just combined.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead gently.
- Roll out to 1-inch thickness and cut into rounds.
- Place biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes.
- While biscuits bake, cook sausage in a skillet until browned.
- Add flour to sausage and stir for 1 minute.
- Slowly add milk, stirring until thickened.
- Season gravy with salt and pepper.
- Serve biscuits warm, topped with sausage gravy.
Notes
- For extra flaky biscuits, do not overwork the dough.
- Use your favorite sausage for gravy.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
