Description
Buffalo Chicken Pasta is a flavorful fusion of spicy buffalo chicken and creamy pasta, perfect for game day, family dinners, or cozy nights in.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces of pasta (penne or rotini works well)
- 1 pound of boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup of buffalo sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup of cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the chicken: Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Heat olive oil in a skillet, cook chicken for 6-7 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked. Shred the chicken.
- Create the sauce: In the same skillet, lower heat and melt cream cheese. Add buffalo sauce and stir until smooth and creamy. Simmer for 3-4 minutes.
- Combine all ingredients: Add shredded chicken to the skillet and coat in sauce. Add pasta and cheese, stirring until melted and smooth. Add pasta water if needed to adjust consistency.
Notes
- Ensure the pasta is al dente to prevent it from overcooking in the sauce.
- Adjust the buffalo sauce to your spice preference.
- For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in buffalo sauce before cooking.
- Use a variety of cheese for extra creaminess, such as gouda or pepper jack.
