Ingredients
- All-purpose flour: 3 cups (360 grams)
- Instant yeast: 2 teaspoons (7 grams)
- Sugar: 2 tablespoons (25 grams)
- Salt: 1 teaspoon (6 grams)
- Warm milk: 1 cup (240 ml, about 110°F or 43°C)
- Unsalted butter: 4 tablespoons (56 grams, melted)
- Egg: 1 large
- Shredded cheese: 1 cup (about 100 grams)
- Honey: 1/4 cup (60 ml, plus extra for drizzling)
- Sesame seeds: 2 tablespoons (for topping)
Instructions
- Prepare the dough by combining warm milk, sugar, and instant yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg, mixing until a dough forms.
- Prepare the cheese filling by measuring out 1 cup of shredded cheese and setting it aside.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 12 pieces. Flatten each piece and place a tablespoon of cheese in the center, sealing it well.
- Place the rolls seam-side down on a baking sheet, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush the tops of the rolls with honey and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
- Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Let them cool slightly and drizzle with additional honey before serving.
Notes
- Use warm milk and room temperature eggs for best results.
- Allow the dough to rise until doubled in size for fluffy rolls.
- Do not over-knead the dough to avoid tough rolls.
- Ensure the cheese is well-sealed inside the dough.
