Delicious homemade Christmas toffee with a rich buttery flavor.
Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine butter, sugar, water, and salt.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
- Remove from heat and pour onto a greased baking sheet.
- Let it cool for a few minutes, then sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Once the chocolate melts, spread it evenly.
- Add chopped nuts if desired.
- Allow to set completely before breaking into pieces.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container.
- Use a candy thermometer for best results.
- Feel free to customize with different toppings.
