Description

Creamy Cajun Shrimp Pasta is a flavorful dish combining bold Cajun spices, creamy sauce, and tender shrimp served over pasta.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces of fettuccine or linguine pasta
  • 1 pound of large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 cup of chicken broth
  • 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside, reserving ½ cup of pasta water.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet and sauté the shrimp, seasoned with Cajun seasoning and garlic powder, for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add chicken broth and simmer, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the pan. Add heavy cream and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  4. Add cooked pasta and shrimp to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce. Sprinkle in Parmesan cheese and stir until it melts into the sauce. Add reserved pasta water if needed to adjust sauce consistency.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, replace heavy cream with half-and-half or a non-dairy cream substitute.
  • Use gluten-free pasta for a gluten-free version of this dish.
  • Fresh garlic can be used instead of garlic powder for extra flavor.
  • If you prefer a meat-free version, swap shrimp for vegetables like zucchini or mushrooms.
