Description

Creamy Cajun Shrimp Pasta is a flavorful dish with succulent shrimp, a rich and creamy sauce, and bold Cajun spices. It’s a one-pot meal that’s easy to make and perfect for weeknights or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces of pasta (like fettuccine or penne)
  • 1 pound of shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tablespoons of Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 4 cloves of garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup of chicken broth
  • 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions, reserving 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and sauté shrimp seasoned with Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from the pan.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté garlic for 30 seconds, then add chicken broth and simmer for 2 minutes. Add heavy cream and simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Add the cooked pasta and shrimp back into the pan. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and the pasta is well coated in the sauce. Adjust consistency with reserved pasta water as needed. Heat for 1-2 minutes and remove from heat.

Notes

  • Don’t overcook the shrimp, as they can become rubbery.
  • Reserve pasta water to adjust the sauce consistency.
  • For extra flavor, marinate the shrimp in Cajun seasoning for 15 minutes before cooking.
  • You can substitute shrimp with chicken or tofu for a different protein.
  • If you prefer a spicier dish, add hot sauce or pickled jalapeños as a garnish.
