Description

Creamy Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta is a flavorful and quick dish featuring succulent shrimp, creamy sauce, and al dente pasta. A perfect meal for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz (225 g) spaghetti or fettuccine pasta
  • 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)

Instructions

  1. Boil salted water in a large pot. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, lower heat to medium, add remaining butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 1 minute, then add heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Add reserved pasta water if sauce is too thick.
  4. Add cooked shrimp and pasta to skillet, toss until well coated. Adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, or red pepper flakes as desired. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, use olive oil instead of butter.
  • Substitute shrimp with scallops or chicken for a different protein.
  • For dairy-free, replace heavy cream with coconut cream and Parmesan with nutritional yeast.
