Description

Dried fruit chips are delicious snacks made by removing moisture from fresh fruits, resulting in a sweet and chewy treat that is healthy and packed with nutrients.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups of plums – Pitted and sliced thinly.
  • 2 cups of mangoes – Peeled and sliced thinly.
  • 2 cups of apples – Cored and sliced thinly.
  • 2 cups of pears – Cored and sliced thinly.
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice – Prevents browning.
  • 1 tablespoon of honey (optional) – For added sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional) – Adds warm flavor.

Instructions

  1. Choose ripe but not overripe fruits.
  2. Wash and slice the fruits thinly, about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Preheat the oven to 200°F (93°C) and arrange the fruit slices on baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake for 4 to 6 hours, flipping halfway through, until dry and crisp.
  5. Let the chips cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Use a mandoline slicer for uniform slices.
  • Space fruit slices apart on baking sheets for even drying.
