Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- Cooked rice or steamed vegetables (for serving)
Instructions
- Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and marinate with 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, and minced garlic for 10-15 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, combine the remaining soy sauce, honey, grated ginger, cornstarch, and water. Stir until smooth to make the sauce.
- Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken pieces and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked.
- Pour the sauce over the cooked chicken, stirring to coat. Cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds over the chicken and stir to combine. Serve over rice or with steamed vegetables and garnish with green onions.
Notes
- For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
- You can substitute honey with maple syrup or agave nectar.
- For a vegetarian option, use tofu instead of chicken.
- Toast the sesame seeds for extra crunch and flavor.
