A simple and crispy shrimp tempura recipe.
Ingredients

- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 egg, beaten
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine cold water and beaten egg.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Dip each shrimp in the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
- Fry shrimp in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with dipping sauce.
Notes
- Keep the batter cold for extra crispiness.
- Do not overmix the batter.
- Use fresh shrimp for best results.
