Ingredients
- Fettuccine Pasta: 12 ounces
- Unsalted Butter: 1/2 cup (1 stick)
- Heavy Cream: 1 cup
- Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese: 1 cup
- Salt: to taste
- Black Pepper: to taste
- Fresh Parsley: for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Fettuccine: Boil salted water and cook the fettuccine for 8-10 minutes until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain.
- Prepare the Sauce: Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat, then add heavy cream and simmer for 3-5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Add Cheese and Seasoning: Reduce heat to low, stir in grated Parmesan cheese until it melts. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

- Serve Immediately: Serve the Fettuccine Alfredo on plates, garnished with extra Parmesan and fresh parsley. Enjoy hot!
Notes
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best melt and texture.
- Adjust the sauce consistency with reserved pasta water as needed.
- To make it lighter, substitute olive oil for butter and use half-and-half instead of cream.
- For added flavor, toast garlic in the butter before adding the cream.
