Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, coat chicken pieces in cornstarch.
  2. Dip chicken in beaten eggs.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Fry chicken until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  6. Pour sauce over cooked chicken in the pan.
  7. Stir until chicken is evenly coated and sauce thickens.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

  • Serve with steamed rice.
  • Adjust spice level by modifying red pepper flakes.
