- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- In a bowl, coat chicken pieces in cornstarch.
- Dip chicken in beaten eggs.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry chicken until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
- Pour sauce over cooked chicken in the pan.
- Stir until chicken is evenly coated and sauce thickens.
- Garnish with chopped green onions.
Notes
- Serve with steamed rice.
- Adjust spice level by modifying red pepper flakes.
- Can use tofu for a vegetarian option.
