Description

Sweet and spicy gochujang caramel popcorn with sesame seeds.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup popcorn kernels
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup gochujang
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Pop the popcorn kernels using your preferred method.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, butter, gochujang, corn syrup, and salt.
  3. Heat over medium until the mixture boils, stirring constantly.
  4. Allow to boil for 4-5 minutes without stirring.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in sesame seeds.
  6. Pour the caramel over the popcorn and mix well.
  7. Spread the popcorn onto a baking sheet to cool.
  8. Break into pieces and serve.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container.
  • Adjust the gochujang for desired spice level.
