Description
Grilled beef patties are a classic, flavorful staple of outdoor barbecues and casual meals. Made with ground beef, seasonings, and breadcrumbs, they are juicy, tender, and easy to prepare, making them perfect for both beginners and experienced cooks.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs
Instructions
- Preheat your outdoor grill to high heat and lightly oil the grate to prevent sticking.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the egg, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the ground beef and bread crumbs to the bowl. Mix gently until combined.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty about 3/4 inch thick. Press a small indentation into the center of each patty.
- Place patties on the grill. Cover and cook for 6 to 8 minutes on one side. Flip and grill for another 6 to 8 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches at least 160°F (71°C).
- Remove the patties from the grill and let them rest a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Do not overwork the meat mixture to avoid tough patties.
- Always preheat and oil the grill to prevent sticking.
- Pressing an indentation into the center of patties helps them cook evenly.
- Let patties rest after grilling to retain juices.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure safe internal temperature.
