- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1/2 medium onion, diced
- 1 lb mushrooms, sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper (adjust to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat a deep pan over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and heat it.
- Add ground beef and cook, breaking it apart, until browned and crumbly.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until onion is translucent and golden, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in sliced mushrooms and cook for another 5 minutes until softened and liquid has mostly evaporated.
- Sprinkle in the flour and stir well until fully incorporated and no lumps remain.
- Add beef broth, heavy whipping cream, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Stir and bring to a simmer.
- Lower the heat and simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and flavors to meld.
- Remove from heat and stir in sour cream until fully blended.
- Serve hot over egg noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes. Garnish as desired.
