Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the cold butter and cut it into the flour mixture until crumbly.
- Make a well in the center and pour in the buttermilk.
- Stir until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently.
- Roll out to 1-inch thickness and cut out biscuits.
- Place biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add herbs or cheese to the dough.
- Do not overwork the dough for flaky biscuits.
- Serve warm with butter or jam.
