Description

Homemade Chick-Fil-A Sandwich with crispy, juicy chicken breasts, fresh toppings, and a buttery bun. Enjoy the fast-food flavor at home!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large chicken breasts (sliced into 4 thin cutlets)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons milk powder
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Oil for frying
  • 4 hamburger buns (toasted with butter)
  • 12 dill pickle chips
  • 4 green leaf lettuce leaves
  • 2 large tomatoes (sliced into rings)
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • Chick-Fil-A Sauce

Instructions

  1. Whisk together eggs and milk in a shallow dish and set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine smoked paprika, cayenne powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt.
  3. In another dish, combine flour, milk powder, sugar, baking powder, and spice mixture. Add 2 tablespoons of egg-milk mixture to the flour mixture and rub with your fingers until coarse.
  4. Heat oil in a Dutch oven or deep fryer to 350°F. Dip chicken in the egg-milk mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture, pressing to coat.
  5. Carefully fry the chicken for about 4 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F, or shallow fry for 3-4 minutes on each side. Place the fried chicken on a wire rack and top each piece with a slice of cheese.
  6. Toast hamburger buns with butter. Spread Chick-Fil-A sauce on each side.
  7. Assemble the sandwich by stacking pickles, lettuce, tomato, and the fried chicken with melted cheese on the bottom bun. Place the top bun and press gently to hold together.

Notes

  • Ensure the oil reaches the right temperature before frying to avoid greasy chicken.
  • Fry chicken in batches to prevent overcrowding the pan and maintain crispiness.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  • Customize your spices for more flavor or add heat with extra cayenne or paprika.
  • Let the fried chicken rest on a wire rack to keep the coating crisp.
