Description

Honey Garlic Chicken Breast is a quick and easy recipe featuring tender chicken coated in a delicious, sticky honey-garlic sauce. Perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 500g boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter or 2 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup honey

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken breasts in half horizontally to create thinner pieces, then season with salt and pepper.
  2. Coat each piece of chicken in flour, shaking off excess.
  3. Heat butter (or olive oil) in a skillet over high heat. Add chicken pieces and cook for 2-3 minutes until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side for 1 minute.
  4. Reduce heat to medium-high, add minced garlic and reserved butter to the pan. Stir for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Add apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and honey to the skillet. Stir and let the sauce simmer for 1 minute until it thickens slightly.
  6. Turn the chicken in the sauce to coat it evenly, then remove the skillet from heat.
  7. Serve the chicken with the sauce drizzled over the top.

Notes

  • If you don’t have chicken breasts, you can use chicken thighs for a juicier option.
  • If you’re gluten-free, substitute cornstarch or gluten-free flour for regular flour.
  • For a lighter version, use olive oil instead of butter.
  • Adjust sweetness or saltiness by adding more honey or soy sauce to the sauce as it simmers.
  • Make sure not to overcook the chicken, check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer (165°F or 75°C).
