Description
A delightful recipe for honey garlic meatballs that combines sweet and savory flavors, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- Ground beef: 500 grams (about 1 lb)
- Breadcrumbs: 100 grams (about 1 cup)
- Garlic: 3 cloves, minced
- Honey: 60 ml (about 1/4 cup)
- Soy sauce: 60 ml (about 1/4 cup)
- Fresh ginger: 1 tablespoon, grated
- Green onions: 2, finely chopped
- Black pepper: to taste
- Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green onions. Add a pinch of black pepper and mix well.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs about 2.5 cm (1 inch) in diameter and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and bake the meatballs for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, and a pinch of black pepper. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly (about 5 minutes).
- Transfer the baked meatballs to a large bowl and pour the warm honey garlic sauce over them. Toss gently to coat evenly.
Notes
- Overmixing the meatball mixture can make them tough; mix just until combined.
- Always preheat the oven for even cooking.
- Line the baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Use just enough sauce to coat the meatballs without making them soggy.
- Check for doneness; meatballs should reach an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F).
