Description
Honey glazed chicken is a simple and flavorful dish featuring tender chicken pieces coated in a sticky, sweet, and slightly spicy glaze made from honey, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 skinless boneless chicken breast halves, cut into bite-sized pieces
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients and ensure the chicken is cut into bite-sized pieces.
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes to make the glaze.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat until hot.
- Add the chicken pieces to the skillet and cook, stirring frequently, until browned (about 5 minutes).
- Pour the honey glaze into the skillet and stir well to coat the chicken. Continue cooking for 5 more minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F and the sauce has thickened.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately, either alone or with your favorite sides.
Notes
- If you don’t have honey, you can substitute it with agave nectar or maple syrup.
- For a gluten-free version, replace soy sauce with tamari sauce.
- Adjust the red pepper flakes to your spice preference or omit them for a milder flavor.
- Make sure to stir the glaze well before adding it to the chicken to ensure even coating.
