Description

Traditional Irish brown soda bread.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add honey and buttermilk, mix until combined.
  4. Knead the dough gently on a floured surface.
  5. Shape into a round loaf and place on a baking sheet.
  6. Cut a cross on top of the loaf.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Let it cool before slicing.
