- 1 lb ground lamb or beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 cup frozen peas
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground meat over medium heat.
- Add onion, carrots, celery, and garlic. Cook until softened.
- Stir in beef broth, tomato paste, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Mix in frozen peas and season with salt and pepper.
- Spread the meat mixture in a baking dish.
- Top with mashed potatoes, smoothing the surface.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Notes
- Use leftover mashed potatoes for quicker preparation.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like corn or mushrooms.
