Description

Italian stuffed cabbage rolls filled with meat and rice.


Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and blanch the cabbage leaves for 2-3 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, mix the ground beef, cooked rice, onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place a portion of the meat mixture in each cabbage leaf and roll tightly.
  5. Spread a layer of tomato sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Arrange the cabbage rolls seam-side down in the dish.
  7. Pour the remaining tomato sauce and diced tomatoes over the rolls.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
