Description

Kani salad is a refreshing dish featuring imitation crab meat, fresh vegetables, and a creamy dressing, making it a popular choice in Japanese cuisine.

Ingredients

  • Imitation crab meat: 200 grams, shredded
  • Cucumber: 1 medium, julienned
  • Avocado: 1 ripe, diced
  • Carrots: 1 medium, shredded
  • Mayonnaise: 3 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil: 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame seeds: 1 tablespoon, toasted
  • Salt: to taste
  • Pepper: to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the imitation crab meat by shredding it into bite-sized pieces and placing it in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Julienne the cucumber, shred the carrot, and dice the avocado, then add them to the bowl with the shredded crab meat.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, sesame oil, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour the dressing over the crab and vegetable mixture and gently toss to combine, being careful not to mash the avocado.
  5. Transfer the salad to a serving dish, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use high-quality imitation crab meat for the best flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within a day.
  • For a spicy variation, add chili flakes or sriracha to the dressing.
