Description
Kreatopita is a traditional Greek meat pie made with a flaky crust and a savory filling of minced meat and spices.
Ingredients

- 500g minced beef
- 2 onions, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup rice
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 500g filo pastry
- 100g butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a pan, sauté the onions and garlic until soft.
- Add minced beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in rice, parsley, cinnamon, salt, and pepper.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a bowl, beat the eggs and mix into the meat mixture.
- Layer half of the filo pastry in a greased baking dish, brushing each layer with butter.
- Spread the meat mixture evenly over the pastry.
- Cover with the remaining filo pastry, brushing each layer with butter.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
- Can be frozen before baking.
- Use ground lamb for a different flavor.
