Description

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup lemon custard
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract.
  6. In another bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
  7. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture alternately with milk.
  8. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Allow cakes to cool completely.
  11. Spread lemon custard between the layers and on top of the cake.
  12. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
