Description
Mango mousse is a delightful dessert that combines the rich, tropical flavor of mangoes with a light and airy texture, made by blending ripe mango puree with whipped cream and gelatin.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ripe mangoes (about 2 cups of mango puree)
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
- 3 tablespoons water (for gelatin)
- A pinch of salt
- Fresh mango slices and mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the mangoes by peeling, pitting, and blending them into a smooth puree.
- In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until soft peaks form.
- Fold 1/4 of the whipped cream into the mango puree, then add the dissolved gelatin and stir well. Finally, fold in the remaining whipped cream gently.
- Spoon the mixture into dessert cups, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 2-3 hours to set.
- Garnish with fresh mango slices and mint leaves before serving chilled.
Notes
- Choose ripe mangoes for the best flavor.
- Be careful not to overwhip the cream to avoid a grainy texture.
- Use agar-agar for a vegan version of the mousse.
- Experiment with flavors like citrus zest, spices, or chocolate for variations.
