Description

The Monster Cake Recipe is a fun-filled baking adventure that combines creativity with delicious flavors, perfect for any celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Green food coloring
  • Purple food coloring
  • 4 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for frosting)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • Large candy eyes (for decoration)
  • Colorful sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter into two bowls, adding green food coloring to one and purple to the other.
  6. Pour the green batter into one prepared cake pan and the purple batter into another.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  8. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  9. Once cool, place one layer on a cake stand, spread green frosting on top, and place the second layer on top.
  10. Frost the entire cake with purple frosting and decorate with green frosting for monster teeth, candy eyes, and colorful sprinkles.

Notes

  • Be careful not to overmix the batter to keep the cake light and fluffy.
  • Always let the cake cool completely before frosting to avoid melting.
  • Feel free to customize with additional decorations and flavors.
