Description
Philly Cheesesteak Pasta combines two beloved comfort foods: Philly cheesesteak and pasta, offering a hearty, cheesy, and flavorful dish perfect for any night.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces of pasta (penne or fettuccine)
- 1 pound of beef steak (ribeye or sirloin), thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups provolone or mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and bell peppers. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until softened.
- Push the vegetables to the side of the skillet, add the sliced beef, and cook for about 5 minutes, until browned.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant. Then pour in beef broth and heavy cream, stir, and simmer for 2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss everything together until the pasta is well-coated with the sauce. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional cheese or parsley if desired.
Notes
- For a lighter option, you can substitute beef with chicken or turkey.
- Use gluten-free pasta for a gluten-free version.
- Other melty cheeses like cheddar or gouda can replace provolone or mozzarella.
- Feel free to add more vegetables like mushrooms, zucchini, or asparagus for extra flavor and nutrition.
