Description

Salmon with Lemon Cream Sauce is a rich, flavorful dish combining tender seared salmon with a tangy, creamy lemon sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • Juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons chopped dill
  • Crushed red pepper flakes, to taste (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season salmon fillets with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear salmon skin side up for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Flip salmon and cook skin side down for another 5 minutes until skin is crispy. Remove salmon and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium-low and add butter to the skillet. Once melted, sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Sprinkle flour into the skillet and stir into garlic for about 1 minute to form a roux.
  6. Slowly whisk in heavy cream and cook over medium-low heat until thickened.
  7. Add lemon zest, lemon juice, chopped dill, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir to combine.
  8. Return salmon to the skillet, spoon sauce over each fillet, and cook for 2 minutes to warm through.
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with extra dill or parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Do not overcook salmon to keep it moist and tender.
  • Avoid burning garlic to prevent bitterness in the sauce.
  • Use freshly grated lemon zest for best flavor.
  • For gluten-free option, substitute all-purpose flour with cornstarch.
  • Reheat gently to avoid drying out the salmon.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
