- 8 ounces spaghetti or linguine pasta
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup white wine (Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio)
- 1 lemon, juiced and zested
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Boil pasta according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain pasta.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet. Cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until pink, then remove and set aside.
- Sauté garlic and red pepper flakes in the same skillet for 30 seconds. Add white wine and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Return shrimp to skillet and add pasta water and cooked pasta. Stir in lemon juice and zest. Toss together and season with salt and pepper.
- Serve garnished with fresh parsley and optional Parmesan cheese.

- Substitute shrimp with chicken or scallops for variety.
- For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free pasta.
- If avoiding alcohol, use vegetable or chicken broth in place of white wine.
