Description
This Sloppy Joe Biscuit Casserole combines seasoned ground beef, fluffy biscuit pieces, and melty cheddar cheese in a warm, comforting bake that’s perfect for weeknights or casual gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 teaspoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 12 oz biscuits, cut into quarters
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until no longer pink and browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add ketchup, water, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt to the beef. Stir well and let simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and transfer the beef mixture to a medium bowl. Add biscuit pieces and gently toss to coat.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking pan, spreading evenly. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
- Bake for 28–30 minutes or until biscuits are golden and cheese is bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Do not overcrowd the biscuit pieces for even cooking.
- Allow the beef mixture to simmer fully to thicken properly.
- Add sautéed onions or bell peppers for extra flavor.
- Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving for better texture.
- For a spicier version, add jalapeños or hot sauce.
