Description

This Sloppy Joe Biscuit Casserole combines seasoned ground beef, fluffy biscuit pieces, and melty cheddar cheese in a warm, comforting bake that’s perfect for weeknights or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 12 oz biscuits, cut into quarters
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until no longer pink and browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add ketchup, water, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt to the beef. Stir well and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and transfer the beef mixture to a medium bowl. Add biscuit pieces and gently toss to coat.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking pan, spreading evenly. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  6. Bake for 28–30 minutes or until biscuits are golden and cheese is bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the biscuit pieces for even cooking.
  • Allow the beef mixture to simmer fully to thicken properly.
  • Add sautéed onions or bell peppers for extra flavor.
  • Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving for better texture.
  • For a spicier version, add jalapeños or hot sauce.
