Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Divide the ground beef into four equal portions.
- Form each portion into a loose ball.
- Add oil to the skillet and place the beef balls in the skillet.
- Smash each ball down with a spatula to form a patty.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes, then flip the patties.
- Add a slice of cheese on each patty and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Toast the burger buns in the skillet.
- Assemble the burgers with your favorite toppings.
Notes
- Use high-fat content beef for juicier burgers.
- Do not overwork the meat when forming balls.
