Ingredients

- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cream cheese
- 1/2 cup diced jalapeños
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Mix cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and jalapeños in a bowl.
- Form the mixture into small balls.
- In another bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each ball into buttermilk and then coat in the flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F.
- Fry the balls until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
Notes
- Adjust jalapeño quantity for desired spice level.
- Serve with ranch dip for added flavor.
