Description

A delicious and easy-to-make tuna pasta salad combining pasta, tuna, fresh vegetables, and creamy dressing. Perfect for lunch, dinner, or picnics.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups rotini or penne pasta
  • 1 can (about 5 ounces) canned tuna, drained
  • 1 medium bell pepper, diced (any color)
  • 1 stalk celery, diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas, thawed
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill or Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse with cool water to stop cooking.
  2. Wash and prep vegetables: dice bell pepper and celery, finely chop red onion, thaw peas.
  3. In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta, drained tuna, diced vegetables, and peas. Stir gently to mix.
  4. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and Greek yogurt (if using) until smooth.
  5. Pour dressing over pasta mixture and fold gently until well coated. Adjust seasoning as needed.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld.
  7. Serve chilled, optionally garnished with fresh herbs.

Notes

  • Do not overcook pasta to avoid mushy texture.
  • Start with less dressing and add more if needed to avoid over-dressing.
  • Chilling the salad enhances flavor blending.
  • Use high-quality tuna for best taste.
  • Fresh herbs like parsley or basil can elevate the flavor.
  • Experiment with garlic powder or vinegar to enhance dressing taste.
