Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups rotini or penne pasta
- 1 can (about 5 ounces) canned tuna, drained
- 1 medium bell pepper, diced (any color)
- 1 stalk celery, diced
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup frozen peas, thawed
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup Greek yogurt (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon dried dill or Italian seasoning (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse with cool water to stop cooking.
- Wash and prep vegetables: dice bell pepper and celery, finely chop red onion, thaw peas.
- In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta, drained tuna, diced vegetables, and peas. Stir gently to mix.
- In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and Greek yogurt (if using) until smooth.
- Pour dressing over pasta mixture and fold gently until well coated. Adjust seasoning as needed.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld.
- Serve chilled, optionally garnished with fresh herbs.
Notes
- Do not overcook pasta to avoid mushy texture.
- Start with less dressing and add more if needed to avoid over-dressing.
- Chilling the salad enhances flavor blending.
- Use high-quality tuna for best taste.
- Fresh herbs like parsley or basil can elevate the flavor.
- Experiment with garlic powder or vinegar to enhance dressing taste.
