Description
A refreshing summer drink that combines sweet watermelon, zesty lemon, and cool mint.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups watermelon: Choose ripe, sweet watermelon. Make sure it’s cubed and seeded for easy blending.
- 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves: Fresh mint is essential for that cool, refreshing taste. You can add more for garnish.
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice: About 4-6 lemons will give you the perfect tangy flavor. Fresh juice is always best!
- 1/4 cup honey or sugar: Adjust the sweetness to your taste. Honey adds a nice flavor, while sugar is a classic choice.
- 2 cups cold water or sparkling water: Cold water keeps it refreshing, while sparkling water adds a fizzy twist.
- Ice cubes: Essential for serving your lemonade chilled and refreshing.
- Lemon slices and watermelon wedges: These are perfect for garnishing your glasses and adding a pop of color.
Instructions
- Prepare the watermelon by cutting it into cubes and blending until smooth.
- Make the mint syrup by heating water and honey/sugar until dissolved, then steep mint leaves for 10 minutes.
- Combine the strained watermelon juice, lemon juice, and mint syrup in a pitcher. Add cold or sparkling water and stir well.
- Serve over ice, garnished with lemon slices and watermelon wedges.
Notes
- Choose a heavy watermelon for sweetness.
- Fresh mint enhances the flavor; consider tearing or muddling the leaves.
- For a fizzy version, replace cold water with sparkling water.
- Experiment with other fruits for unique flavors.
