Description

A homemade version of Wendy’s famous pot of chili.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft.
  3. Stir in the kidney beans, pinto beans, diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and mix well.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  6. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Adjust spices to your taste.
  • Can be served with cornbread.
