Description

A rich and fudgy brownie recipe topped with vibrant green frosting, perfect for Halloween celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter
  • 2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (85 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (175 g) chocolate chips (optional)

For the Dark Chocolate Glaze:

  • 1 cup (170 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream

For the Green Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups (250 g) powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Green food coloring
  • Chocolate sprinkles

For Garnish:

  • Candy eyeballs
  • Spooky decorations (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13 inch (23×33 cm) baking pan by greasing and lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter in a large saucepan over low heat, then mix in the granulated sugar until well combined. Let it cool slightly.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time to the butter and sugar mixture, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips if desired.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  8. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before lifting them out and cutting them into squares.

Notes

  • Avoid overmixing the batter to keep brownies fudgy.
  • Measure ingredients accurately for best results.
  • Allow brownies to cool completely before cutting.
  • Preheat the oven to the correct temperature.
  • Test for doneness with a toothpick.
